Course Details
- Two-Day Classroom: interactive 14 to 16-hour, two-day program
- Blended Format: combined online Pool Operator Primer Course (POP) and attendance on the second day of the in-classroom course for the final exam.
- Illinois Department of Public Health recognizes the CPO® as a verifiable certification.
- IACET Continuing Education Units Qualification for eligibility of Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Taught by Deborah Todner, multiple year PHTA® Certified Instructor with twenty plus years firsthand experience. Course materials with practical-use instruction will benefit the CPO® and the facility they are responsible to, with emphasis on the importance of applying all tools learned for facility preservation and reduction of operating costs.
Training through this CPO® course will equip each operator with the knowledge, techniques and skills for optimal pool and spa operations. A CPO® is a person who has successfully completed a specific course of instructions sanctioned by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance. Proper training has helped protect millions of swimmers by reducing hazards at aquatic facilities. Certification is valid for 5-years.
Materials and time
- Upon enrollment a Pool & Spa Operator™ Handbook, instructions and materials will be shipped UPS Ground
- Spanish materials and test are available, must be requested when registering
- Registration is at 7:30am, class begins at 8:00am runs up to 3:30pm each day
- Refreshments served each morning and lunch provided on the second day of a live class
